4/25/2023 0 Comments Reliable psychology websites![]() I'll find the authors' papers in journals and then read their books. I usually read articles in peer-reviewed journals or books by authors I know that are reliable. Peer-reviewed journals still let some crap slip through the cracks occasionally, but much much less often than any non-peer reviewed process. It doesn't have a thorough review process and it shows it's just a free, fun and easy-to read website. Psych Today gets a lot of good articles, but also gets a handful of crap that isn't worth reading and sometimes is pure pseudoscience. Unreliable: psychology today - because basically anyone can write an article on psychology today. Reliable: scientific american, psychiatric times, (maybe) psych central, science daily, or any site that references the research in the article. ![]() My best guesses are (I don't know too many "fun" psych websites because I don't browse for-fun psych websites too often) Any media without a peer-review process doesn't rigorously enough filter out bad articles, leaving their site with a handful of crap that isn't worth reading and has wrong or pseudoscientific information. ![]() ![]() The thing is, is that only peer-reviewed journals (although not always the most interesting) are the most reliable method of finding research. ![]()
